Bio Pools

June 30, 2026

A bio pool— also known as a natural swimming pool or eco-pool —is designed to maintain water quality through biological filtration rather than chlorine or bromine. These systems replicate the processes found in healthy aquatic ecosystems, using beneficial bacteria, specialized filtration media, and, in some cases, a dedicated regeneration zone with aquatic plants to remove excess nutrients from the water. By depriving algae of the nutrients it needs to thrive, bio pools naturally maintain clear, balanced water without conventional chemical sanitizers.
